Troubleshooting

Having trouble getting Dispatch to post messages in a Discord channel?

Discord permissions can be complex, involving both server and channel levels. Here are a few things to check:

  • Admin check: Verify if you have "Administrator" permission on the server.
  • Security or verification tools: Some servers use external tools that might block bot messages. These tools may require configuration to allow Dispatch.
  • Channel posting permissions: Make sure the channel allows message posting. Some channels might be set to "Read only".

Setting Discord permissions for Group Chats

  1. Right click channel name and select "Settings"
  2. In Settings, choose "Permissions"
  3. Scroll down to "Advanced Permissions"
  4. Make sure that for whichever Roles/Members group you're assigning Dispatch bot to, the green checkmark is checked next to "Send Messages"
  5. Make sure to click "Save Changes"!
